I jumped at the first 2000 dollar TT to come along... Had over 20k into making it a NICE car again, and that doesn't include R/Ring an engine because of the seized turbo it had when I got it. It feels incredible when your finally happy with it, but IMO start with an already nice one and save the headaches and money. I have almost exactly the same amount of money in my 95TT including purchase price, and it has less than half the miles, I have 3 years less time into it, its faster, and is in worlds better condition. If your willing to spend a LOT of time and money on the car to save it, by all means. Not trying to discourage you, just a thought.
